In addition to the progress made on strategic plan initiatives, the Open Data Team has focused in particular on three large projects. The first is an ongoing inventory cleanup effort, consolidating similar datasets so it’s easier to find and analyze them. The second is a relaunch of our help desk, improving the management of inquiries with the aim of improving response quality and speed. The third is focused on updates to the Technical Standards Manual that agency Open Data Coordinators use to guide them through identifying, publishing, and maintaining datasets. All of these projects advance the core principles identified in the strategic plan, whether making it easier to find the right data, supporting the staff that make Open Data possible, or strengthening our connection to the New Yorkers that use this information.
